A celebrity hairdresser who has recently been named the Australian hairdresser of the year has revealed the eight hair trends you need to know about in 2023, and the main mistakes we’re making with our locks.
Renya Xydis – who counts stars including Cate Blanchett, Nicole Kidman, Natalie Portman and Naomi Watts among her A-list clients – said the most important thing to think about when getting a great haircut is your face shape.
‘Face framing is essential to make a client look the best they can,’ Renya told FEMAIL.
She detailed the eight trends you need to know about.

Forget balayage or washed-out colour, Renya said, as 2023 is all about ‘beautiful glossy healthy hair’.
‘Wella Shinefinity Glaze is possibly the best glaze launched in late 2022, as it lasts up to 20 washes and makes styling your hair a dream, while the shine is next level,’ Renya said.
‘Block colour also really highlights glazes, giving them a richness and depth.’
